Scalextric building workshop and Stroud Grand Prix
Join us anytime on Wednesday from 4-9pm when we will be running a workshop to build a mammoth Scalextric track around the whole church.
For this to work, we need you to bring your own Scalextric track to use.
DON’T WORRY, we will mark your pieces with a UV pen so that when we take it down on Friday, all of your pieces can be identified and you can collect them from the church.
Check your attics, shed, garages and local car boot sales. Ask your parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
We will supply some track to get us started, together with tools and some materials to build ramps, bridges, scenery, and anything else you want to build.
Bring anything else you think might be great to go alongside the track. We want this to be a collective and cooperative effort – let’s build whatever we want!
Then from 6pm Thursday will be RACE DAY. We will run races all evening, AND a prize competition for best modified car.
All ages welcome, both events are family friendly. We have timetabled this event so that it falls after school hours so that as many children as possible can attend.
Race day begins at 6pm and children will be able to race first so that you can all get home in time for bed (or stay late and carry on racing). Food and drink are allowed in the church, so you can bring snacks and even dinner if you like.
There is also a bar providing lots of soft drinks (and something stronger for the adults).
Tickets are free for those who help build the track the day before (please drop us an email or tell us you are coming on the facebook event so that we have an idea of numbers).
£5 – advance tickets.
£6 – on the door.
Cash only at the bar.
